Panthers Fall to Huntingdon

The Greenville Panthers (4-2 2-0) fall to non-conference opponent Huntingdon College (6-1) in a physical game 40-14. The game was not as on sided as the score seems, as the Panthers only trailed 26-14 at halftime, but failed to find the endzone in the second half.

The first score for the Panthers came from a trick play by the Panthers. The Panthers ran a reverse with the ball ending up in FR QB Marcus Harris' hands. Harris found All-American SR TE Zach Friedrich for a 60 yard bomb.

The second score came from JR QB Joel Lira to JR WR Keytrone on a 10 yard TD strike. The Panthers D played strong, making it difficult for the Hawks to get anywhere on the ground, allowing very few rushing yard. SR DE Cory Bierdeman recored the Panthers only sack on the day. SO SS John Smith had 10 tackles for the Panther's defense in his first career start.

This week is a short week for the Panthers, as they head to Minnesota on Thursday to play Northwestern College in the Dome Day matchup in the Minnesota Vikings Metrodome. Check back later this week for more Dome Day info.
