Former Panther's QB Gets An Opportunity of a Lifetime

Former Greenville QB Dominic Kegel (Hunters, WA) has always dreamed about playing professional football. That dream may become a reality next week. Kegel will be flying to Orlando, FL for a try out with the Montreal Alouette's of the Canadian Football League.

Kegel has already participated in an arena league combine where he stood out among the quarterbacks, as well as wide receiver. He was clocked at a 4.5 40, and repped 225 11 times on the bench press. He also excelled in the passing and receiving drills.
" I love playing quarterback, it is what I have always played. But I am open to playing any position at the next level."

Kegel is a 3-time all-conference QB during his time with the Panthers, as well as Conference MVP in 2007. He leaves Greenville as one of the most prolific passers, as well as runners, in school history.

Kegel will participate in the try out on Feburary 14th. Stay tuned to Panther Blog for updates.

EMAP Teambuilder

The Panthers hosted a recruiting weekend last weekend (Jan 31st) for over 20 prospective student-athletes. Activities included: a tour of the campus and football facilities, visit with Admissions, a Player Panel, which is an opportunity for the recruits and their parents to ask questions to a panel of current Panther players. Also, the recruits viewed highlight film as well as an overview of team philosophy by the GC coaching staff.

In the evening, the recruits and their parents were able to enjoy a meal on campus with players and coaches in the Dining Commons. After the meal, it was Team Builder time. During this time, the players and recruits headed to the Rec. Center for basketball and dodgeball. This is a great time for players and recruits to bond in a fun way, as well as give the recruits an idea of how players at Greenville College love to compete in everything they do.

We encourage all recruits to come on a recruiting weekend to get a real GC expereince, as well as participate in a EMAP Teambuilder

Upcoming Visit dates:

Feb 15th and 16th

Febuary 27th and 28th

March 27th and 28th

Visit GC and experience what it means to be a Panther

Panthers Prepare for Spring Break Service Trip

Many college students head to the beach for Spring Break, but several of the Panthers are going to head to Philadelphia for a Service Trip. They will be hosting a football clinic for inner city youth, as well as volunteering at homeless shelters.

Coach Lehman said, "We have an opportunity to show these people God's love, as well as teach them football. It doesn't get any better than that."

Defensive Tackle Bobby Jones (Miami, FL) is excited about the upcoming trip,"It is going to be an awesome experience and I really can't wait. It is going to be a time to grow as a team in so many ways."

Offensive Guard Zach Hite (Mowekwa, IL) said "I am excited to make memories with my teammates, and serve people who are less fortunate."

Check back for updates about the Philly Mission Trip, as well as video, pictures, and more.
