Meet the Newest Panther: Ryan Gallegos

Greenville College welcomes Ryan Gallegos a transfer linebacker from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the EMAP family. Gallegos transferred from Lake Forest College (IL) where he played inside linebacker for three seasons. As a freshman he earned honorable mention with 78 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 3 interceptions. As a sophomore Gallegos was first team all conference with 80 tackles, 7.5 for a loss, and 6.5 sacks. Then his junior year he was voted second team all conference with 56 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and one interception.

"I have a tremendous passion for the game of football. From the X and O's, to the preparation both mentally and physically, and how it all culminates on game day with intensity, emotion, and camaraderie.” Gallegos stated.

“I am excited about learning a new concept, “Biblical Football” and I look forward the 2010 season not only as an opportunity to win games with teammates I love but, to grow closer to Jesus Christ with guidance from my coaches in Biblical Football!”

He continued, “Coach Walker expressed to the team something Jesus said that really resonates with me. Matthew 17:14 "But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it."

Gallegos previously earned an Associate Degree in Arts at Broward College in Florida where he attended one year. He is a Junior Academically and is earning his degree in Recreation and Adult Fitness with a minor in Coaching.
