For the first time in 24 seasons, the Greenville College Panthers will begin the season with a junior varsity game.

On Monday September 5th, the Panthers will make the short trip to St. Louis to take on the Bears of Washington University.

This will be the second meeting of these teams in a junior varsity game. In 2009 the Wash U JV team defeated the JV Panthers. The last varsity match between these two was also in 2009 when Greenville won 17-7.

JV Head Coach Aaron Mingo will lead the squad for the second consecutive season. In 2010 the JV team went 3-1. For Greenville these JV games are crucial to player development. Just ask QB Brendon Chambers who played in three JV games last year before finishing the season as the varsity starter.
