Senior Jeremy Burrows named Pre-Season All-American

Everyone who has followed Panther football over the past few years knows about its impressive ability to run the football. The Greenville offense finished 3rd in the NCAA in 2011 (342 yards/game) and 7th in 2010 (306 yards/game) in Rushing Offense. A big part of the success in the running game has been the play of SR OT Jeremy Burrows. Burrows has established himself as one of the best lineman in the conference and was named a 1st team UMAC selection in 2011 and a 2nd team UMAC selection in 2010. In addition to the conference recognition, Burrows was just recently named a NCAA division III 2nd team pre-season All American by BSCN (Beyond Sports College Network).

“I haven’t had a player who has invested as much into the off-season strength and speed program as Jeremy has. His dominance in the weight room has translated to his dominance on the football field. As a freshman I knew Jeremy had a lot of potential due to his athleticism, but it’s the way he has gained strength and explosiveness that has truly been the key,” says offensive line coach Aaron Mingo. “He is a player who spends time before and after every practice working on his technique to ensure that he is constantly getting better. He has set an example of what it takes to be great, and has influenced the play of the entire offensive line.”

Jeremy is entering his final season with the Panthers who begin fall practices on August 9th. When asked about his expectations for Jeremy this season Coach Mingo adds “I believe that Jeremy has focused on the process of doing everything the right way. Because of his hard work and commitment to giving it his best in everything I think Jeremy will be one of the best linemen in the country this season. I am very proud and excited for him.”
