Panther Football Introduces New Defensive Coordinator

Trent Laune is the most recent addition to the Greenville College Football staff. Laune will fill the role of Defensive Coordinator. He comes to Greenville after spending 8 years at Concordia University in Nebraska. He was a player at Concordia (NE) from 05-07. The following five years, Coach Laune was brought on staff as a coach.

Most recently, Laune held responsibilities as the linebackers’ coach, JV defensive coordinator and video coordinator. During his time on staff at Concordia (NE), Laune had the opportunity to coach inside and outside linebackers, as well as defensive line.

Under Laune, twelve All-Conference honors were presented to players he coached. In 2011, Laune coached the top vote-getting Linebacker in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. In that same season, he coached a defense that held conference opponents to 2.8 yards per carry.

Coach Laune is well respected by many Nebraska coaches, as he has presented linebacker fundamentals and drills at many high school coaching clinics.

Coach Laune received both his B.S. in Business Administration (2007) and M.B.A in Finance in (2013) from Concordia University (NE).

He and his wife, Megan, were married in June 2009.

EMAPNation is excited about the hiring of Coach Laune. His deep understanding of the game, work ethic, attention to detail, and love for competition makes him a good addition to Panther Football program. But his deep passion for Christ and the growth of our young men, make him a tremendous asset to the program.
