UMAC All Academic Team: Panthers Lead UMAC with 28 Players

Greenville College sets a record this year with academic all-conference players. The Panthers lead the UMAC with 28 players, while the closest was a whopping 7 players behind.

Senior Cody Killgore talks to us about what has changed in the program to help our panthers be successful "When I was a freshman here, the coaches valued academics, but I feel like they weren't sure how to stress its importance to the players.  This past year the coaches decided to partner with Greenville's Student Success.  They helped with incorporating the tutoring and academic coaching into the study habits of our freshman.  It really is awesome to see how big of an impact it has made!”.

Greenville College is clearly showing that this program is more than just about football.  Assistant head coach Jeff Disandro talks about the importance of these 28 players "This is a tremendous milestone for our program.  In all my years at Greenville I don’t think we've done this.  We are at a 2.9 team GPA and so close to our goal for 3.0 as a team.  It’s just an awesome job by the staff and players.  This is definitely fruits of the programs focus on the holistic growth of our athletes!" Greenville College is a team that strives for perfections in all areas of the program.
