Top 5 Moments of 2014

The first day of a new year is always a great time to reflect on all the tremendous things that happened in the previous year.  In honor of New Years Day, Greenville College Football looks back at the Top 5 Moments of 2014.

5. Coach Schomaker is named Head Coach

The first memory of our list came on the first day of the new year.  This is when Greenville College removed the interim tag and selected their 7th head coach in the program's history.  Coach Schomaker has been a member of the staff since 2010.

4. Mid West Prep JV Game


The last and most exciting JV game of the season.  Greenville JV won on a QB keeper from Juan Carbajal in the second overtime.

3. Terminator Olympics

Will Plachta may have come away the winner but everyone involved learned what it takes to compete when things get uncomfortable.

2. EA Northey finds John Dudley for a the win.  

For the 4th year in a row the Eureka game came down to the last possession and for the 4th year in a row Greenville prevailed.  This time it was EA Northey finding John Dudley with just a few seconds left on the clock for the victory.

1. Youth reigns in post season Awards

Greenville saw 10 players receive UMAC all conference awards including 7 underclassman. The NCCAA honored 5 Greenville College football players with their post season awards as well.
